Synopsis

Less than a month before his wedding day, 28 year-old LLOYD FORRESTER -- a frustrated musician and gentle giant if ever there was one -- arrives home early from his job to discover his fiancé having sex in the shower with the wedding planner! Distraught and with nowhere else to turn, he drives from Indiana to Los Angeles to the home of his childhood friend, MICK WEST. Mick was a heartthrob actor ten years ago best known for his starring role on the cult sci-fi television show, “Dragon Slayer”. But since the show was canceled, Mick has found himself struggling for work and deeply in debt. On top of that, he recently found out that his father, with whom he hasn’t spoken in over fifteen years, is dying of cancer. When Mick is offered a last minute opportunity to make some much-needed cash by appearing at a sci-fi convention in Australia, he has no choice but to bring his heartbroken friend Lloyd with him.

No sooner do they arrive in Australia things start going down hill for our miss-matched duo. An airline strike prevents them from flying to the convention in Adelaide, so they are forced to catch a ride with a mysterious old codger named WHIPSTICK in his beaten-up ute, “Melbatoast”. Whipstick knows of a shortcut to Adelaide and proceeds to take Mick and Lloyd deep into the Australian bush.
